DAY WISE ITINERARY

Day 01 Arrival in Mumbai

You arrive in Mumbai on your own. We shall receive you at the airport exit & assist you to the waiting car/coach outside. Escort you to your hotel for check in. You relax a while before leaving for a brief tour in the afternoon. Here you see the majestic Gateway of India, Mani Bhawan or the Gandhi memorial (Used to be the residence of Mahatma Gandhi in Mumbai), Marine Drive (The queen’s necklace) & the hanging gardens.

Day 02 Mumbai - Aurangabad (1 hr flight)

First up you go on a morning excursion to the Elephanta Caves, the world famous 1200 years old Caves dedicated to Lord Shiva. The famous Trimurti sculpture signifying the trinity of the Creator, the Preserver and the Destroyer is located here. Return in the afternoon & drive to the airport for your fight to Aurangabad. Upon arriving here, we shall meet with you & escort you to the hotel. Stay overnight.

Day -03 Aurangabad

Today you go on an excursion to Ajanta caves, a heritage site especially related to Buddhism from the period of 200 BC to 650 AD. The caves here also have Jataka stories that are famous for their moral and religious values. Return to your hotel for dinner & overnight stay.

Day 04 Aurangabad

Have breakfast at the hotel. Later leave for the Ellora caves which houses 34 monasteries and temples with some exclusive uninterrupted sequence of monuments dating back 600 to 1000 AD. Return in the evening for overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 05 Aurangabad - Dhar (400 kms, 6-7 hrs)

After an early morning breakfast, you drive to Dhar. En-route stop by some vantage locations to stretch your legs & enjoy coffee breaks. Continue driving. Upon arrival, you check in your hotel. Rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Go on a walking tour of the little but beautiful town before retiring to your hotel.

Day 06 Dhar - Indore (70 kms, 1 1/2 - 2 hrs)

After breakfast you visit Maheshwar, the Chattri of Ahilya Bai who died in 1795. Later in the afternoon, you go visiting okareshwar. This island on the Narmada River is said to be the site of two of India’s 12 great shiva temples before the Muslim invader Mahmud of Ghazni on his march to Somnath destroy these temples. Stay here for the night.

Day 07 Indore - Bhopal (175 kms, 3-4 hrs)

After breakfast, you visit Ujjain city which traces its origin to the very dawn of Indian history and has a great tradition of learning and culture. See the temple of Mahakaleshwar, observatory of masonry, Jantar Mantar, bathing ghats of Shipra Rive and Gopal Mandir, a 19th century temple of Maratha style architecture. later continue driving to Bhopal.

Day 08 Bhopal - Sanchi - Bhopal

You go on a day picnic to Sanchi today. This place has the distinction of having the finest specimens of almost all Buddhist architectural forms, stupa, Chaiya, temples and monasteries dating to 3rd century. Later visit Udaygiri caves, the Gupta caves here date from 320 to 606 AD two of them are Jain, the other 18 are Hindu. Continue driving to Bhopal for overnight stay here.

Day -09 Bhopal - Orchha (325 kms, 5-6 hrs)

In the morning you visit the Bhimbekta caves, where about 700 rock shelters belonging to the Neolithic age and over 500 caves have painting of pre historic man. Afternoon you transfer to Railway Station to board Shatabadi Express for Jhansi. Arrive in Jhansi and transfer to Orchha. Upon arriving here, we meet & greet you before checking in the hotel. Stay overnight here.

Day 10 Orchha - Gwalior (120 kms, 2-3 hrs)

Have breakfast in the morning. Later pack up & leave for a sightseeing tour of Orchha visiting the temples built by its Bundela rulers in the 16th and 17th century. Carry on driving to Gwalior, en route visiting Datia to visit the 7 storey Palace, an impressive building that represents both the Mughal & Rajput architecture. It is the biggest and most famous of all the 52 palaces build by Raja birsingh Deo and it can be seen easily from a long distance. Arrive in Gwalior and check in your hotel. Relax & freshen up before watching the “Son-et-Lumiere” at the Gwalior Fort.

Day 11 Gwalior - Agra (60 kms, 1 1/2 hrs)

First up in the morning , you shall be touring Gwalior visiting the majestic Gwalior fort. It is one of the largest and mightiest forts of India. You also visit the Saas-Bahu Temples, the 11th-century temples of Lord Vishnu while Teli-ka-Mandir is a 300-metre-high Vishnu temple of the 9th century. Later you drive to Agra. Stay overnight at the hotel here.

Day 12 Agra - Delhi ( 240 kms, 3-4 hrs)

Before you have had your breakfast, you leave for Taj at Sunrise, the wonder monument built as a testimony to the love & devotion of Mughal emperor Shahjehan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Rekindle the lost love for your own partner while soaking yourself in the aura & beauty of this massive edifice in white marble. Return to your hotel for breakfast. Later in the day, you leave for the Agra Fort. Drive to Delhi in the evening. Check in for overnight stay here.

Day 13 Delhi - Departure for home country

After breakfast at the hotel. you go on a full day sightseeing of the capital city covering in it parts of Old & New Delhi. Enjoy a cycle rickshaw ride in the Chandni chowk area going up to Asia’s largest spice market. See India gate, President’s house & Humayun’s tomb. We shall treat you to a nice farewell dinner at a prominent city restaurant before seeing you off at the airport. Your trip comes to an end. Hope you enjoyed travelling with us.
