DAY 01 Arrive in Delhi

You arrive in Delhi on your own, We shall meet with you at the airport exit, assist you to the waiting car outside & escort you to your hotel in the city. Rest of the day is at leisure.

DAY 02 New Delhi Tour

Have breakfast in the morning. Later leave for a tour of New Delhi covering in it India Gate, Presidents Estate & Humayun’s Tomb before being transferred to the Delhi Cantonment Railway Station. It is from here that you would be boarding the Palace on Luxury train for the most enjoyable journey of next 8 days. You are ushered in & greeted very warmly & cordially on board.

Day 02 Arrival in Jaipur by 0200 hrs / Departure at 1930 hrs Jaipur

The first stop of Palace on Wheels is Jaipur, the pink city and the capital of the state of Rajasthan. Morning after breakfast proceed for city tour of Jaipur by AC Luxury Coach visiting Hawa Mahal or the palace of winds, which is a remarkable five storeyed building along the main street of the old city with semi-octagonal and delicate honey combed sandstone windows. This is followed by a visit to Amber Fort, where rides on caparisoned elephants add to the ambiance. After lunch at a Palace Hotel visit City Palace, home of the erstwhile royal family and Jantar Mantar, the largest observatory built by the Sawai Jai Singh II. The Luxury coaches will take you back to Palace on Wheels around 6.30 pm. Dinner on Board.

Day 03 Arrival in Sawai madhopur at 0400 hrs / Dep. 1030 hrs Sawai Madhopur

Early morning arrive at Sawai Madhopur, the city named after its founder Sawai Madho Singh. After breakfast a visit is arranged to the Ranthambhore National Park, wherein, if you are lucky enough may see the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger. The park, covering an area of 392 sq. kms. is home to more than 300 species of birds. The tiger, hyena, ratel, jackal and fox are among those constituting the carnivorous population here. The Palace on Wheels leaves for Chittaurgarh, where one gets an opportunity to watch the colourful countryside passing by in the daylight .

Day 04 Arrival in Chittaurgarh at 1600 hrs. Chittaurgarh; Dep 0530 hrs. for Udaipur

After lunch on board you are in Chittaurgarh. Images of love and valour; scars of battles lost and won, thrice-beseiged the Chittaurgarh Fort is all this and more. Later the Train Chugs off to the city of lakes Udaipur.

Udaipur, the Lake City was founded by Maharana Udai Singh of Mewar, after the Sisodia dynasty was driven away by the Mughals, in 1559A.D. Perhaps the two most beautiful sites of Udaipur are the dream-like marble Palaces-the Jag Niwas (Lake Palace) and the Jag Mandir, which appear to rise from the blue waters of Lake Pichhola. After lunch a visit to City Palace is exhilarating, the largest palace in Rajasthan. In the evening visit the crystal gallery. Later proceed to Bharatpur on board Palace on Wheels .

Day 05 Arr. 08.15 hrs at Jaisalmer, Dep. 2300 hrs from here

This morning after breakfast you will tour Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer, founded by Rawal Jaisal, in 1156A.D lies in the heart of the Thar Desert. Here the yellow sandstone fort is an imposing sight, towering magnificently over the city. Discover the painstakingly latticed havelis or mansions with their grand facades. The Nathmalji-ki-haveli, Patwon-ki-haveli and Salim Singh-ki-haveli are fine examples of the stone carver’s skill. After lunch on board proceed for sunset camel ride at samm sand dunes by Luxury Coach. The luxury train leaves for Jodhpur at night. .

Day 06 Arrival at 0700 hrs / Dep 1530 hrs Jodhpur

Next morning the Palace on wheels is in Jodhpur, a city ringed by a high stone wall with seven gates and several bastions. This second largest city of Rajasthan, founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 A.D. is known for its rock-solid Mehrangarh Fort. Return to the Palace on wheels after lunch at a Palace hotel.

Day 07 Arr 0630 hr, Dep 1145 hrs Bharatpur

Palace on Wheels arrive early next morning at Bharatpur, the capital of Maharaja Suraj Mal. After breakfast visit the world famous bird sanctuary, Keoladeo Ghana National Park, the nesting place of thousands of Egrets, Siberian Cranes, migratory Water Fowl and other species of birds. .

Day 08 Arr 14.30 hrs, Dep 23.00 hrs Agra

After breakfast drive to Agra en route visiting Fatehpur Sikri, the red sandstone Mughal palatial complex. Within the enclosure is a mosque built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar and dedicated to the Sheikh Salim Chisti, a muslim Sufi Saint who blessed him with a son. After lunch visit the Red Fort and Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World at sunset. A pristine monument of undying love built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal. Agra is known for its splendid marble inlay work like the Pietra Dura work on the Taj, leather goods and jewelry. Dinner on board and a good night’s sleep, arrive at Delhi Cantt Station, New Delhi at 6.00 hrs the next morning and proceed to your onward destinations.

Your tour ends today. We meet with you at the cant station & escort you to the nearby hotel where you rest for the day. You have the option of a half day old Delhi city tour before departing for your home country in the evening.
