DAYS 01 & 02 ARRIVAL IN DELHI (Sight Hopping & Leisure)

You arrive in the capital city on your own. Usual greeting at the airport, escort to the hotel. Check in & relax. Later you go on a panoramic tour of old Delhi, the essence of what India looks like. You experience rickshaw ride in the bustling Chandni chowk opposite the illustrious red fort. Walk to one of the largest spice wholesale markets of Asia winding your way through narrow lanes & by lanes. Savor the famous Paranthas in the illustrious food street. See hundreds of locals, walk alongside & greeting you with a smile.

Welcome Dinner today.

Note: Day 01 sightseeing schedule shall depend on what time you arrive here.

Day 02

Today you go on a New Delhi tour. This is Lutyen’s Delhi with palatial bungalows, huge mansions, skyscrapers & world heritage monuments. You visit the India Gate (War memorial for the Indian Soldiers); Presidents Estate (Home to the President of India with 360 rooms); Birla Temple (Place of equal faith, inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi), Humayun’s Tomb (precursor to Taj), Lotus temple (Bahai faith, closed on Mondays) & the Qutab Minar (victory tower of the Muslim rulers)

Enjoy a metro ride from Nehru Place to the Central secretariat. Delhi Metro is no less than a phenomenon catering to 2.7 million commuters daily. Later visit the Hauz Khas area for a bit of your time. You can let your hair loose & groove to some peppy music inside a plush restaurant.

DAYS 03 & 04 DELHI – DHARAMSHALLA (1 hr 40 minutes flight)

You fly into one of the most scenic places overlooking the Dhauladhar hills. This is Dharamshalla for you, the place where Tibetans live in exile & have made it their home & their seat of political activity. Also known as little Lhasa, Dharamshalla is an epicenter of Buddhism in India. Upon arrival you check in your hotel. Later walk through the bustling Tibetan market where you see hundreds of hawkers selling jewellery, artifacts, semi-precious gems, beads, export garment etc. Stay overnight here.

DAY 04


First up you walk to the Namgyal monastery (institute of Buddhist studies) just opposite the Dalai Lama’s residence & see student monks chanting prayers & absorbed in other morning rituals. Go to the Tibetan children’s village school that looks after the orphaned Tibetan children since it was set up in 1960. Then a moderate walking tour to the capital McLeod Ganj atop the hill; interact with monks & other inhabitants of the area. Retract for the night stay at your hotel.

Watch the Sun rise over the majestically serene mountain peaks before embarking on a road journey to the holy city of Amritsar. Stop by some vantage points for capturing impressive scenery in your lens. See men & women tending to their crops in the valleys & children playing in fields. Interact with the locals on the way to understand their living style. Upon arrival you check in your hotel. Relax a bit. Later Visit Golden temple (The Highest seat of Sikh Religion, gilded in 750kg of Pure Gold); Astonishing 10 -15K people feed free from the free community Kitchen here every day. See the lively & gregarious men in turbans & women clad in Shalwar Kameez doing free service. Return for overnight stay.

DAY 06


On the cards today is a visit to the Jallianwalla Bagh (witness to an unfortunate massacre by the British of hundreds of peaceful protesters on harvest day Baisakhi, 13th April 1919). Next you go to Durgiana temple (Hindu place of worship, built amidst a sacred lake & resembling golden temple); savor the famous Amritsari Kulcha on the way (potato stuffing in white flour mixed with curd, carom seeds etc). Later you visit the Wagah border demarcating arch rivals India & Pakistan, witness the impressive beating the retreat ceremony held every evening.

DAYS 07, 08 & 09 AMRITSAR – HARIDWAR - RISHIKESH (7 ½ hrs by train followed by a short drive to Rishikesh)

You depart by early morning train to Haridwar. Haridwar is another pilgrimage town where you see thousands of devotes coming for a holy dip in the Ganges in the belief that their sins would be washed away. Close to 4 million Indians travel here each year for a sacred dip in the Ganges. After disembarking you drive to Rishikesh, confluence & concoction of the legendary Ganges, yoga & mediation. You would be staying here for the next 3 days. Check in your Ashram/hotel/camp.

Ascetics, Sadhus & the river make it a very special place. The place was made famous by George Harrison (Beatles fame) who came here on a couple of occasions & made it their spiritual abode. Witness the evening Aarti at the Triveni Ghat, at sunset priests perform this river worship ceremony – placing leaf boats loaded with flowers and candles into the river.

DAYS 08 & 09


Experience Ashram Life, encompassing Meditation & Yoga for 2 days; You can either opt for hourly regimen at one of Ashrams or follow the whole day schedule of the Ashram religiously; From Waking up to Bathing to Morning prayers, to Asanas, to eating breakfast, resting, more Asanas, chanting & Dinner etc.

Visit Brahmapuri Ashram & get firsthand experience of the life & times of ascetics & their disciples. Also see the maharishi Mahesh yogi ashram where Beatles group had stayed during their 60s & 70s tour to India. You get energized & feel in sync with your spiritual self on this part of your touring.

DAY 10 RISHIKESH – DEHRADUN - DELHI (40 kms/75 minutes by road followed by 50 minutes flight)

Leave Rishikesh for Dehradun after you have checked out. Close to one hour of drive takes you through some verdant valleys, maize fields, Lychee & mango orchards. Reach the Jolly Grant airport for your flight to Delhi. A small flight of 50 odd minutes & you reach the capital city.

DAY 11 DELHI – AGRA (240 kms, 3-4 hrs road journey)

Leave Delhi for the wonder place Agra, the destination made famous by the illustrious symbol of love & devotion, the Taj Mahal. Driving on the super cool expressway is a treat reminding you of the beautiful ones back in Europe & America. Upon reaching here, you check in your hotel. Relax a while. Later before dusk, you visit the famous Taj on the banks of river Yamuna. Immerse yourself completely in the beauty & grandeur of the monument. Return to your hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 12 AGRA – DELHI – Depart to home country

You wake up early before dawn. Have a cup of refreshing tea. Leave for the freshest view of the Taj Mahal. Rekindle your love for your own. Return for breakfast at your hotel. Pack up in time for the return journey to Delhi international airport. But not before you have visited the Agra Fort.

We escort you to the airport. Your tour ends here. We hope you enjoyed travelling with us.
